Grammar II: Grammar and Editing for Style and Clarity

Learn more about English grammar, identifying unclear constructions, and self-editing.

In this workshop, we'll review principles for writing grammatically correct and and increasingly complex sentences. Alternating between whole group discussion and partnered activities, we'll also practice identifying and correcting common problems like sentence fragments, comma splices, faulty parallelism, and more. Participants will have the opportunity to build a “self-editing” checklist by applying workshop principles to an excerpt of their own writing.

Note: A solid grasp of English grammar basics or participation in Grammar I is strongly recommended before attending this workshop.
